A man has been arrested after shots were fired at a garda patrol car in Tallaght.
Gardai investigating the incident, which happened at 2.30am on the 24th of July in the Rossfield Avenue area, arrested a man in his early 20s this morning.
Gardai say on the night, a marked Garda car with unarmed uniform Gardaí was on patrol in the area, when they came across three men. One had a handgun and one had a baseball bat.
The man with the gun fired a number of shots at the garda car. One of the shots struck the car. All three men fled the scene. There were no injuries during the incident.
The man arrested this morning is currently detained at Tallaght Garda Station, where he can be held for up to three days.
