Police investigating the murder of an Irish pensioner in London have made an arrest.
87-year-old Thomas O'Halloran, who was originally from Clare, was stabbed as he was driving his mobility scooter close to his home in west London.
He'd left his native Ennistymon 71 years ago, but had travelled home to see family every year until around 10 years ago.
The Metropolitan Police say a 44-year-old man was arrested in the Southall area of London in the early hours of this morning and is now in custody.
Thomas's close friend Wayne Hughes says he'd been busking on the streets to raise money for Ukrainian refugees just before he was killed;
"Who could do something like that to an old man like him, he wouldn't harm anybody Tom. Such a lovely man. Always laughing. Always had time for all the kids, when the kids come he'd play wheels on the bus and all that."
