A man in his 70s has been arrested for being in charge of a horse drawn carriage while under the influence.
Gardai from the Bridewell arrested the man in Smithfield in Dublin 7 for being under the influence of an intoxicant yesterday afternoon.
He was charged under the Road Traffic Act and has appeared before the courts.

A garda spokesperson says: "Gardaí from the Bridewell station in Dublin 7 conducted a Mandatory Intoxicant Checkpoint (MIT) yesterday afternoon, Sunday 8th January 2023, in the Smithfield area, Dublin.
"A male, 70s, failed a roadside breath test and was arrested for being in control of a horse drawn vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant.
"He was charged under S6 (1) of Road Traffic Act, and has now appeared before the courts."
