A man in his 20s has been arrested after cannabis worth €226,000 was seized in north Dublin.
Gardai and revenue officers carried out a search in Balbriggan as part of an ongoing investigation into an organised crime group operating in the area.
Over 11 kilos of the drug was discovered.
The man arrested has been taken to Balbriggan Garda Station where he can be held for up to a week.
A garda spokesperson says: "As part of the ongoing investigation into an organised crime group operating in the Balbriggan area, a joint operation was conducted today, Monday, 3rd October 2022.
"A male in his 20s was arrested by An Garda Síochána in connection with the seizure and is detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Balbriggan Garda station.
"Investigations are ongoing.
"This operation was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
