A man has been arrested after Olympic Medalist John Joe Nevin was attacked this morning.
It happened outside a house in Mullingar at around 11:30am.
Three people, including Nevin, were taken to hospital after the incident.
The 25 year old boxer's leg was broken in two places.
Another man and woman both in their 20s were taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Gardaí were called to the scene and an investigation is now underway.
A man in his 20s was later arrested and is being held at Mullingar Garda Station.
