Drugs worth over €480,000 have been seized, and a man in his late 20s has been arrested by gardai as part of the search operation in the Dublin North Central Division.
Gardaí stopped and searched a vehicle on Mayor Street Lower in Dublin 1 on Tuesday afternoon, and cannabis with an estimated street value of €20,000 along with €6,500 cash was also seized.
A man was arrested at the scene and taken to Store Street Garda station where he was detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996. A number of follow up searches took place in Co. Meath and also North Dublin and during the course of these searches Cannabis, Cocaine, Ketamine with an estimated street value of €460,000 and drug paraphernalia was also seized.The drugs are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).
The arrested man has been charged in relation to these seizures and is due to appear before Criminal Courts of Justice, Court number 2, this afternoon.
