A man has been arrested following an aggravated burglary in Blackrock yesterday.
The man entered a shop on Rockville Road and threatened staff with a knife before making off with a sum of cash.
Gardai arrested the man in his 50s following a search and he was taken to Blackrock Garda Station.
No one was injured in the incident.
A garda spokesperson says: "Gardaí have arrested a man following the aggravated robbery of a shop in Blackrock, Co. Dublin, yesterday afternoon, Monday 26th September 2022.
"Following report that a man armed with a knife had entered a shop on Rockville Road and made threats to staff before fleeing the scene with a sum of cash, Gardaí attended.
"No injuries were reported.
"Searches of the area were conducted and the suspect was located.
"A man aged in his 50s was arrested and taken to Blackrock Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
"The stolen sum of cash was recovered in full.
"Investigations are ongoing."
