A man has appeared in court following an armed robbery at a supermarket in Gorey, Co. Wexford yesterday.
The man walked into a supermarket on Coach Rd disguised with a red balaclava at around 3:40pm, he threatened staff with a knife and left with a sum of money.
Gardai arrived on the scene and arrested the 35-year-old, he was taken to Gorey Garda station and subsequently charged.
At 9:30pm last night he was brought before a special sitting of Gorey District Court and remanded in custody to appear at Wexford District Court tomorrow morning at 10:30am.
No one was injured during the incident and the sum of money was recovered.
