A 20 year-old man has been charged with causing severe harm to a teenager, following a stabbing in Swords.
Brandon Gavin - of Brookdale Road, Rivervalley, Swords - appeared at Dublin District Court yesterday afternoon.
19 year-old, Marius Mamaliga - who remains in a critical condition at Beaumont Hospital - was assaulted while sitting in a car at Forest Court, on Thursday evening.
Yesterday, Det. Garda Conor Tumbleton told the court one of Mr. Mamaliga's arteries had been severed.
Detective Tumbleton noted, "medical staff were unsure if he would survive and, if he does so, he will probably have severe brain damage".
The court heard the accused made 'no reply' when charged.
Mr. Gavin was remanded in custody, with consent to bail.
He will appear at Cloverhill District Court on Wednesday.
