A man's body has been found in the Phoenix Park.
The grim discovery was made in the early hours of this morning and it's believed the victim may have been homeless.
The man's body was found near Wellington Road just after 1 o'clock this morning.
Gardai say he was found in a sleeping bag near the Wellington Monument and appeared to have suffered injuries consistent with being burnt.
Investigations are at an early stage but the scene remains sealed off this morning and the someone from the Office of the State Pathologist is due to carry out a preliminary exam shortly.
Once that's completed, the body will be removed for a post mortem which will establish exactly how the man died.
