It's believed a massive bomb found in Lucan on Saturday was due to be transported up North for an attack.

A newly wed couple and their guests had to be evacuated from Finnstown Country House for five hours after the bomb squad was called to the venue.

The alarm was raised when the homemade fertiliser bomb weighing 30 kilos was discovered in a parked car on the grounds at around 9pm.

It's believed it was left there to be collected and transported across the border.

A man in his 50s arrested yesterday, remains in Garda custody this lunchtime.
