Unions and management at ESB are meeting at the Labour Relations Commission today in a final effort to avert strike action.
The dispute is over a 1-point-6 billion euro hole in the electricity supplier's pension fund.
All talks so far have failed to resolve the row - and workers say they intend to strike on December 16th if no agreement is reached.
Energy Minister Pat Rabbitte says that response would be "out of proportion":
