Pilots at Aer Lingus have accepted a Labour Court recommendation which will see them get a 17.75% pay rise.
It’s after a ballot by members of the pilots union IALPA, which closed this morning.
On a turnout of 96%, pilots at Aer Lingus voted 85% in favour of accepting the pay deal.
They’ll get a pay rise of 17.75% over a four year period until the end of 2026.
The row saw IALPA members engage in a work-to-rule, which had been suspended while the Labour Court recommendation was being considered and voted on.
Aer Lingus says it welcomes the decision by pilots to accept the proposals.
However IALPA President Captain Mark Tighe says the relationship between pilots and management is damaged.
610 flights were cancelled over a two week period in late June and early July as a result of the industrial action.
In a statement, IALPA says: "Members of IALPA, the professional body for Irish airline pilots, and a branch of Fórsa trade union, have voted to recommend acceptance of the terms of the Labour Court recommendation (23007) concerning the pay dispute between IALPA and Aer Lingus.
"Members of the pilot body backed the terms of the recommendation by a margin of 85% on a 96% turnout.
"The ballot closed at 9am this morning (Tuesday) following a series of engagements with pilot members.
"Work-to-rule industrial action by pilots was suspended on 10th July following the decision of the IALPA executive to recommend a vote in favour of the recommendation by the Labour Court."
