A decision to allow a controversial development - stretching from Dublin's O'Connell Street to Moore Street - has come in for major criticism.
The €500 million scheme includes offices, shops and apartments at the old Carlton cinema site – but also controversially knocking down and altering buildings surrounding the 1916 Rising National Monument on Moore Street.
Attempts to develop this huge site right in the city centre have been ongoing for years – with An Bord Pleanala yesterday giving three separate applications the green light.
Those against the plan say it will decimate the historic 1916 site and turn the entire area into a building site.
The Moore Street Preservation Trust - which wants the entire terrace of buildings kept intact and preserved - says it will decimate the historic street.
It's expected legal action will be taken over the move.
