A demonstration will take place in the city today calling for equal treatment of the Irish and English languages.
The 'Lá Mór na Gaeilge' protest is seeking full recognition of the language on both sides of the Irish border.
Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams is urging people to take part in a rally at Parnell Square at 2pm today.
Adams said the future of the language is in danger if the Government doesn't support it now.
"The Irish language is one of the treasures that we still have. The Government is in total breach of its own 20 year strategy," he said.
"There isn't enough funding being put into the Gaeltacht area, or into the whole wider raft of Irish language communities North and South."
