Popular doughnut brand Krispy Kreme is cutting the ribbon on a new store at Liffey Valley Shopping Centre this morning.
The US chain opened its flagship Irish store in Blanchardstown in 2018 leading to hundreds of people queuing through the night for doughnuts. The company had to scrap it's 24-hour drive-thru after complaints from locals.
Another Dublin outlet is also planned this year, the new shop in the old Central Bank on Dame Street will open in the Autumn.
Country Manager Declan Foley believes there's a sense of nostalgia associated with the brand;
"It resonates hugely with a lot of Irish people who have been to the US. Mmany of us have spent a lot of our time, either when we were students or in our working life, in the east coast of the states and I think we recognise the brand from that, I think that resonates with people."
