Celebrations are underway in Dublin's north inner city as boxer Kellie Harrington has secured at least a silver medal at the Olympics.
The 31 year old Dubliner beat Thailand’s Sudaporn Seesondee by split decision in the lightweight semi-final this morning.
The boxer has now secured at least a silver medal and is through to the Olympic final on Sunday, where she will fight Brazil’s Beatriz Ferreira.
Family, friends and neighbours were all up early in Portland Row to watch their local hero in action.
Her father, Christy has described her as a true champion.
Kellie Harrington said afterwards, regardless of the colour of the medal, it’s great to make the nation smile.
Ireland has now secured one gold, at least a silver and two bronze at this year's Olympic Games in Tokyo.
