A year after Dublin city council announced a plan to roll out more public toilets, just one facility has been provided.
The local authority received tenders for six sites as part of the initiative that allows operators to use council land without charge for a shop or café if they provide toilets for free.
The first facility opened at Albert College Park beside DCU last summer.
But plans for one site along Clontarf promenade have been scrapped over flooding issues, concern from residents and the potential to disturb Brent geese according to the Irish Times.
Facilities in Portobello and Ringsend are also expected to be binned over the cost of providing utilities to service them.
While toilets beside the Iveagh Gardens and in Drumcondra have been delayed.
