A jury has failed to reach a verdict in the trial of a young man accused of murdering German student Thomas Heinrich in Rialto.
Wesley Kelly of St. Anthony's Road was found guilty of assault causing harm to Mr. Heinrich's friend but the jurors couldn't agree on the murder charge.
Yesterday, his co-accused, who can't be named because of his age, was found guilty of stabbing the Munich native to death outside his apartment in December 2012.
A sentencing date has been pencilled in for next month and the DPP will now have to decide whether to pursue a retrial in the case of Mr. Kelly's murder charge.
