A Kenyan woman has been found not guilty by reason of insanity of the murder of her housemate in Foxrock.

The victim suffered 65 injuries to his body at his home, in what the Judge described as a graphic case.

The body of Limbani Mzoma, who was originally from Malawi, was found at his home in Tudor Lawns in Foxrock in November 2018.

The 27 year old had 65 injuries to his body and a knife, poker and axe were recovered from the scene.

His genitalia had been removed post mortem.

His housemate 53 year old Grace Miano was arrested shortly afterwards and during this short trial the court heard the facts of what happened weren’t in dispute.

Two consultant psychiatrists said Ms Miano was suffering from paranoid schizophrenia at the time of the murder and had delusional beliefs that the deceased man was trying to hurt her.

She had delusions about the British Royal Family including Price William, Kate Middleton and Princess Diana.

After deliberating for almost two and a half hours, the jury returned the special verdict of NOT guilty by reason of insanity.

Ms Miano, who gave no reaction to the verdict, has been remanded to the Central Mental Hospital.
