A new survey shows Joan Burton is more than twice as likely to attract voters to the Labour Party than her leadership rival Alex White.
According to the Millward Brown poll for today's Sunday Independent, 71 per cent of Labour supporters want to see Minister Burton as leader.
However her rival Alex White is the more popular choice for Labour leader among people who described themselves as Sinn Fein voters - while almost half of those surveyed said they weren't happy with either candidate.
1,019 voters were questioned in the poll on Tuesday and Wednesday of last week.
The Group Political Editor of the Sunday Independent, Fionnan Sheahan has been looking at the findings.
