Holidaymakers stranded in the Canary Islands will soon be able to return home after a sandstorm caused airports to shut.
All of the area's airports, apart from South Tenerife, have reopened following the closures on Saturday.
More than 140 flights were affected by the red dust.
Storm Calima reduced visibility to zero at times over the weekend preventing aircraft from taking off and landing.
The Irish Travel Agents Association is advising holidaymakers to check their flight details if travelling to or from the Canaries over the next 48 hours.
John Spollen is President of the ITAA;
“These flight cancellations are causing major disruption to Irish holiday makers on what is a busy travel period with the school mid term break coming to a close. Irish holidaymakers will be faced with the possibility of incurred additional accommodation costs. We have been assured that these costs will be covered by the airlines, within reason.”
The ITAA is advising all customers to claim under EU261.
