An Irish man is due in court shortly accused of killing his girlfriend in Spain.
The woman has been named locally as Kirsty Ward.
Emergency services were called to the four star Magnolia Hotel in Salou on Sunday night where they found the body of Kirsty Ward.
The 36 year old, believed to be from Dublin, had been violently killed and a man was found beside her with a self inflicted injury.
He was brought to hospital and later arrested.
The 30 year old accused, also believed to be from Dublin, will be brought before a judge in Spain shortly in a behind closed doors hearing.
Spanish courts deal with defendants differently and this man will appear in a court that specialises in violence against women.
He won't be named unless the case goes to trial.
