Inspectors from the Health and Safety Authority are due to examine the scene in west Cork this morning where an Eircom sub-contractor died tragically yesterday as he was carrying out repair work.
The 65-year-old was killed while he was re-erecting a telephone pole which had fallen in the recent storms.
He had been part of a four-man crew working for KN Networks on behalf of Eircom.
