The cost of the new National Children's Hospital has gone up by another estimated €51m.
Inflation has hit the Dublin 8 project with a significant further cost to the State.
The Hospital Development board has estimated inflation running at more than 10% on the new National Children's Hospital.
This triggers a clause whereby the State picks up the bill for costs, if inflation is above 4%.
David Gunning, CEO of the development board, says the €1.43 billion price tag is going to keep rising, even when inflation is discounted.
The builder, BAM, has also put in claims for extra costs amounting to €585 million, but the development board believes there's no way that amount will be paid out.
