There’s been an increase in the number of children and teenagers accessing mental health services.

The Fifth annual report from the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service says the number of new cases were up 11 percent while referrals were up 21 percent.

It also showed that 2,500 young people were on a waiting list for the service up to September of last year.

Young people with ADHD made up most of the case load followed by depression and anxiety disorders.
