Images have been released of an alternative vision for an outdoor swimming pool in Dublin city centre.
A lido is planned for George's Dock after the original idea for a white-water rafting facility was scrapped.
During the summer officials at Dublin city council brought forward plans for a public outdoor swimming pool and swift water training facility with winter and summer layouts.
It followed backlash over the proposal to create a €25 million euro white-water rafting centre at the space in the north inner city that was later abandoned.
But a campaign group says the latest plans have shortcomings, saying half of the prime public site, that would be used for training the emergency services, would be unused for much of the year.
The George's Dock Lido Campaign has released alternative conceptual designs, that would include multiple pools, diving boards and saunas.
The plans also involve green space with seating, performance areas, community function rooms, a restaurant and a viewing gallery.
More than 4,000 people have signed an online petition supporting the plans.
