Bus passengers in Lucan are going green.
The first of Dublin's new hybrid buses entered service this morning, with Dublin Bus on route 25A from Lucan to Merrion Square.
Nine diesel electric hybrid vehicles will be introduced over coming weeks as part of a plan by The National Transport Authority to reduce carbon emissions.
The bright green and yellow buses have low floor access, a dedicated wheelchair space, buggy space and USB charging ports.
Earlier this week, the government published its Climate Action Plan.
It includes 180 targets to help Ireland meet its climate change commitments.
It was expected the Climate Action Plan would include a congestion charge for Dublin.
However, the government has decided against introducing that - for now.
The Transport Minister has warned it is a "rolling document" and could change.
Shane Ross said "anything like that will be considered in due course and certainly won't be ruled out".
He also says there are no plans to make public transport free.
