Tests are being carried out on human remains found in a burning car in Drumcondra.
They were discovered on Trinity Terrace, off Clonliffe Avenue early this morning.
Gardai are investigating if they belong to the same person whose arms and legs were found in a bag in Coolock.
The Technical Bureau has been notified, along with the Office of the State Pathologist and the Coroner.
Officers say they will look for assistance from Forensic Science Ireland to help identify the remains.
Gardaí say it will be some time before proper identification can be confirmed.
