ThereÂ’s beena rise in recorded homicide offences in Ireland. ThatÂ’s according to the latest recorded crime statistics from the CSO.
They reveal an increase of 1.5% in the homicide rate in the last 12 months, driven by a rise in dangerous driving leading to death. Theft and related offences were also up slightly.
There was a fall of just under 9% in burglary and related offences, and a drop in attempts or threats to murder, assaults, harassments and related offences of over 10%, in the year to the end of June.
