Homeowners whos properties have been damaged by pyrite will be able to apply to a 10 million euro state fund from next week.
It comes 7 years after the problem first emerged.
More than 10 thousand homes were identified by the Pyrite Resolution Board as having been damaged by subsidence and cracks in walls.
However its expected that only the most severe cases will qualify for repairs estimated at between 40 and 50 thousand euro per property.
To qualify homes must be assessed by the boards damage verification process.
Only homes completed between January 97 and December 2013 in Dublin city, Fingal, and in counties Meath, Kildare, and Offaly qualify.
