A Dublin Councillor says a homeless woman attending a shelter was provided with a bloodstained mattress to sleep on.
Sinn Féin’s newly elected Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Councillor Chris Curran says that he was contacted by a mother of two who was forced to move into the homeless shelter.
On visiting the shelter Councillor Curran found the woman to be “visibly upset” when the bloodstained mattress with a stench of urine was produced by an official.
Councillor Curran has today called for an urgent review of homeless accommodation in the Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Council area following the release of a disturbing photograph from one of the shelters.
