Dozens of people are planning to sleep rough outside Dun Laoighaire County Council offices in Dublin tonight - in an effort to highlight the growing problem of homelessness.

The charity Focus Ireland says 16 families a month are becoming homeless in the capital.

In Dun Laoighaire alone, there's over 4,000 people on the social housing waiting list.

Among those protesting tonight is People Before Profit TD Richard Boyd Barrett.

This man, who wishes to remain anonymous, has been on a waiting list for social housing for 8 years and is currently in emergency accommodation, thanks to the help of the Simon Community.
