Harry McDevitt is believed to be the first baby born in Ireland in 2023, born just minutes after midnight.
The National Maternity Hospital, Holles Street confirmed baby Harry was born at 3 minutes past 12 to Lynn McDevitt from Terenue.

Lynn was supported by her sister Ciara in welcoming baby Harry, who weighs 8 pounds and four ounces or 3.74 kilograms.
Cork University Hospital was also busy as the New Years' countdown rang in, it welcomed another baby at 12.06am.
