Dublin City Council are advising homeowners to protect their properties against a series of high tides forecast over the coming days.
Sandbags are being installed in Clontarf and in Sandymount for the duration of the high tides, which are expected to hit between the 1st and 3rd of January.
Public car parks in these areas will be closed during this period.
The Council are closing the flood gates on the Dodder and Tolka rivers as a precaution, and the Liffey Boardwalk will also be closed to the public until the 3rd of January.
Homeowners at risk of tidal flooding (particularly in the Clontarf and Sandymount areas) are advised to protect their properties - guidelines for protecting your property from flooding can be found on www.flooding.ie.
