It looks like high tide has passed without a hitch in Clontarf.
Flood defences are in place but water hasn’t breached the walls.
As high tide approached at 11.30 – council workers were keeping an eye on the sea walls here in the Clontarf.
Dozens of 1 tonne yellow sandbags line the area where the wall is at it’s lowest hoping to prevent any potential flooding spilling out to the roadway.
There are also pumps in place…
But – the water hasn’t come over the wall except for a few splashes and it’s relatively calm.
The tide is now starting to turn but the flood defences will stay in place until council officials feel its safe to remove them.
