A Status Yellow wind warning will come into effect from 6pm this evening as Dublin braces itself to be battered with wet and windy conditions.
It will stay in place until 6am on Monday with gusts of up to 110km per hour as Storm Atiyah (PRON: Ah-tee-ya) makes landfall.
While a Status Orange wind warning will come into effect from 1pm tomorrow for western coastal counties, Met Éireann forecaster Liz Gavin says the Dublin coast could be a dangerous place too.
"We do have a yellow wind warning coming into operation, we will see some windy weather tonight again some severe gusts possibly later on tonight, after midnight tonight, for the Dublin area," she said.
"Tomorrow then, that yellow [warning] still in operation, there will be gales along coastal areas, so it'll be a very dangerous place to be," she added.
