The National Public Health Emergency Team says it's monitoring the Covid-19 situation in Dublin "closely", after an increase in cases.
Of the 147 newly-confirmed infections recorded last night, 73 are in the capital.
The rate of community transmission of the virus is also higher in Dublin than the rest of the country, with one in three cases linked to it.
Chief medical officer Dr Ronan Glynn wouldn't rule out a lockdown for the county.
But he says the current measures in place are sufficient;
"So this is the question where if I say no, you know I can't say no but if I say yes then the headline is that Dublin is liable to be locked down so that's not the situation...there's no suggestion at the moment that any further measures are needed."
