The Health Minister anticipates all restrictions will be eased this side of Christmas.
Government is due to publish a roadmap next week.
Health Minister Stephen Donnelly visited the vaccination and test centres at Croke park this morning and told waiting media that the Government wants to see remaining restrictions around live events and nightclubs ended as soon as possible.
Other measures may remain in place "for some time". Minister Stephen Donnelly said the basic advice like mask-wearing and hand-washing was likely to remain in place for the foreseeable future.
NPHET is due to meet tomorrow to discuss easing restrictions, at a time when 55 people are in intensive care with the virus, the vast majority of which the Minister says are not fully vaccinated.
