Health experts will decide today whether mass gatherings should be cancelled because of the coronavirus.
The National Public Health Emergency Team will give guidance on St Patrick's Day parades and other big events.
Dr Tony Holohan, from the Department of Health, says there's been only one confirmed case of the illness in the Republic.
He says he will update the public again later today;
"We anticipate being in a position to provide guidance for the organisers of gatherings of all sizes to enable them to risk assess for themselves and we think that this will be a means of providing a clear and coherent position."
