Motorists are being warned that road conditions across the country are hazardous again this morning.
A Status Yellow warning for low temperatures and ice remains in place for the whole country until midday on Friday.
Ice and freezing fog has been reported on many roads.
Extreme care is needed with black ice likely also.
Brian Farrell of the Road Safety Authority is appealing to drivers to slow down and take their time:
"People need to watch out for the challenge of driving in foggy conditions, especially freezing fog."
"Ice, black ice on rural, local roads is a problem."
