A taxi driver has been removed from the Hailo network over allegations he locked a teenage girl in his car, and made inappropriate comments to her.
Hailo was made aware of the allegation after the girl’s mother made contact with them over the weekend. Her daughter, aged 16, claims she used the app to order a taxi home to Cabra from her friend’s house on Saturday night.
The girl told her mother that she felt really uncomfortable after the taxi driver started making inappropriate comments. Shhe became frightened after he allegedly locked her into the taxi.
A spokesperson for the app says the company will co-operate fully with any investigation that follows.
