Two people have been arrested after a gun was found in West Dublin.
At around 3:30pm yesterday, Gardaí stopped and searched a car on the Old Navan Road.
During the search, a firearm was recovered.
The man in his 20s, and woman in her 30s are being held at a Garda station in Dublin.
They are being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939.
The firearm is subject to analysis by the Ballistics Section of the Garda National Technical Bureau.
Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
