An investigation's underway following the death of a man who had earlier been arrested in County Kildare.
The 23 year old was taken into custody in Maynooth yesterday and brought to Leixlip Garda station, where an ambulance was called.
He was taken to James Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown, where he died later in the afternoon.
GSOC is investigating - its spokesperson is Lorna Lee:
"GSOC is investigating the death. It's a 23 year old man who was in Garda custody before his death. The man was arrested yesterday afternoon by Gardai in Maynooth and he was brought to Leixlip Garda Station then. Gardai have informed us that the man was intoxicated when he was arrested."
