If Graham Norton ever sat in the Big Red Chair he'd have a good yarn to tell.
A specially commissioned portrait of the comedian and BBC presenter has been added to the National Gallery of Ireland.
The painter, Gareth Reid, has been crowned winner of Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year.
It has since emerged Belfast man Gareth is actually related to Graham, who says he's 'embarrased for Ireland' after it was revealed the pair are third cousins.
They figured it out after they began chatting about their heritage but Gareth says he's still trying to process the coincidence
"I still can't quite take in the chances of me, out of all the people who entered, getting the opportunity to paint Graham, out all the people they could have chosen, and it turning out we're third cousins."
The National Gallery of Ireland says its delighted to add the award-winning painting of Graham to its portrait collection.
It goes on display today. Graham is being very modest about it all, saying "I apologise to the artist and the visitors to the gallery, but a combination of vanity and my mother's excitement meant I couldn't refuse."
