Graham Dwyer is due to be sentenced today for the murder of Elaine O’Hara.
Last month, the Foxrock architect was found guilty of stabbing the childcare worker at Killakee Mountain in August 2012.
It’s been just over three weeks since Dwyer was found to have killed the 36 year old for his own sexual satisfaction.
The Foxrock architect went to great lengths to commit what was described in court as the “perfect murder” but a series of developments just over a year later, along with good police work led to his arrest and conviction.
Mr. Justice Tony Hunt adjourned sentencing until today to allow Elaine family to prepare Victim Impact Statements.
Her father, brother and sister sat through the entire trial and the statements will allow them tell the court how her murder has affected their lives.
The 42-year-old father of three will then be handed the mandatory life sentence.
