The DPP says the book of evidence against the man accused of murdering Elaine O'Hara will be ready in two weeks time.
Graham Dwyer, with an address at Kerrymount Close, Foxrock is charged with murdering the care worker in August 2012.
Mr Dwyer appeared before Cloverhill District Court via videolink this morning.
The 41-year-old confirmed he could hear the court before facing the camera and saying "Good morning" to Judge Victor Blake.
When asked if the book of evidence was ready for service, State solicitor Ronan O'Brien told the court it was a "complicated matter".
He said Mr. Dwyer faced a "very serious charge" and he was granted a two week extension.
The book of evidence runs into eight volumes and contains almost 700 statements and reports as well as over 800 exhibits.
Mr. Dwyer was arrested in October - a month after Elaine O'Hara's remains were found by a walker in the Dublin Mountains.
He has been in custody ever since and his appeal to overturn the High Court's decision to refuse bail was dismissed by the Supreme Court just before Christmas.
Before leaving today's short appearance, the architect and father of two scribbled down his next court date.
That's been pencilled in for January 29th when the book of evidence is due to be served.
