The government is to use savings achieved in other departments to fund a 200 million euro bailout for the HSE.
The Irish Times today reports that the Health Service will need a 200 million euro top up to balance the books by year end.
That's 50 million more than predicted by the Health Minister in October.
The Finance Minister Michael Noonan says the money is available because of an increased tax take and reduced spending elsewhere. He also says the 200 million euro overspend is 'not that significant' in the context of the Department's overall budget:
