The government has promised there will be no increases in income taxes until 2020 - and no more austerity after 2015.
The pledges are contained in a new Medium-Term Economic Strategy published this afternoon.
The plan reiterates the government's target of bringing unemployment down to 6 per cent by the end of the decade, with the Taoiseach saying 2014 will be the year of jobs.
Enda Kenny says the plan's ultimate goal is to replace the jobs lost in the recession.
