The Government has announced building is to start on hundreds of student accommodation units.
521 beds are on the way in DCU and Maynooth University in the coming months.
More projects are planned for UCD and Trinity College Dublin, while technological universities will be able to apply for projects this month.
Minister @SimonHarrisTD alongside Ministers @Paschald and @DarraghOBrienTD viewed new student accommodation plans for @DCU and @MaynoothUni earlier today.
Minister Harris also launched the department's new long-term policy to deliver student accommodation.

Policy Intervention
Higher Education Minister Simon Harris says these new beds will be coming on stream in 2026:
"This is a very significant shift in terms of policy intervention, because we have decided as a government that we wanted to invest directly taxpayers money in helping our universities deliver college owned purpose built student accommodation," he said.
